This small side table was painted for a middle school young man with football aspirations. I used his team colors for the uniform as well as his own jersey number. The background field is deliberately out of scale so it emphasizes the ideal football player as he ‘flies’ down the field. On the lower shelf I painted, in the Trompe L’oeil style, a couple of index cards with diagrams of football plays because, well, fool the eye is what I like to do!! The table stands 20″ tall and the top is 14″ X 16″ .

Hydrangea Plaque Series – Autumn
Sometimes commissions come in clusters requesting the same subject matter; this winter it was plaques with Hydrangeas. With the first one I was inspired by the colors Hydrangeas morph into come the autumn. There is a Honey bee coming by to visit. This piece is about 6″ across.
Blue Colonial House Portrait
The owners of this lovely blue Colonial home commissioned this portrait of their home when they knew they would be moving. I photographed it a few times last summer to catch all the beautiful flowers and then used my artistic license to put them all in bloom together. The piece is painted on a wooden plaque 14″X10″ and is only a little larger in scale than the miniature three dimensional houses I painted exclusively for many years. This was like old times for me and I loved doing it. If you are interested in having a portrait done of your home please contact me.
Stones and Feathers on a Bench
This charcoal-black single-seater bench is painted in Trompe L’oeil style with a collection of stones, slate, mica and natural crystal scattered on top. The bowl and the turtle are carved from stone as well. For a little something organic I painted two feathers and an autumn leaf. Of course there is a little lady bug, can you find it? If you are interested in having me paint something similar to this piece please send me an email or leave a comment.
