This is a portrait of my all time favorite Kitty, named Captain. He stuffed himself into this small box about fifteen years ago and I ran quick for a camera! I chose to paint him a little larger than life a few weeks ago because I still miss this special, affectionate Maine Coon. The portrait is done in liquid acrylic on a 16″ X 20″ canvas. This hand painted wooden pot is 5″ tall and can hold anything you want like a 5″ plant, or your colored pencils (not included), or pretty hand towels in the guest bathroom, or utensils and napkins on the dinner table. I had such fun painting a wide range of flowers on it. There are a dozen varieties of Pansies among the 16 hand painted blossoms, plus several buds, fading flowers, leaves, seed pods and one burst open seed pod. I painted a lovely fat honey bee and a lady bug. Pansies are very special flowers! Not only do they have a multitude of faces and colors but they are very happy in the cold! I set them on the front stoop while snow is still melting! Yay Spring!! This third set of large personalized holiday stockings was created completely from scratch for a family with a young son. When the family requested dinosaurs, I had a moment of hesitation and then a burst of inspiration. Dinosaurs must have enjoyed playing in the snow, right? And they would have build snowosaurs wouldn’t they? Do you see it??? This cat with the red satin ribbon bow and Chickadees was based on a beloved pet. I really like the birch trees and the antlered reindeer for the Dad I placed the painted cotton fabric on quilt batting and machine quilted around the larger areas, and stitched straight lines of quilting on the back side. The approximately 16″ tall stockings have a satiny lining and a cuff on the top with the painted name name of each family member. A sturdy loop is stitched into the top back edge.
