Bright Zinnias in an old blue glass Ball Jar sit on a table by a window. I really had fun with this one; from the variety of styles and colors that Zinnias come in, to the glass jar, to the raised lettering and the crocheted doily underneath. And of course a little honey bee has come by to check things out! I painted this commission on a 12″ X 9″ wood plaque.

Hibiscus at Mt Fuji Plaque
This painting of Japanese Hibiscus was inspired by photos I took at the base of Mt Fuji. More delicate than the familiar American Hibiscus, it took a lot of research and intuition for me to identify it once I was back home after my trip. A Dragonfly is my signature insect for this piece. The small oval plaque is only 8 1/2″ X 6 3/4″ with a black frame reminiscent of traditional Japanese lacquer. It is ready for hanging with a hook on the back. It is for sale at $80 including shipping and handling in the United States. If you are interested in purchasing this plaque or custom ordering a similar piece with a different motif, please contact me through this site.
Pansy Platter Pair
Pansies are fun to paint; I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again!! For this custom project the client wanted Pansies painted on her two large metal platters which were bordered with a wooden rim (15″ diameter). I covered over their original motif with a grayish blue background color. And then I just had fun! Of course in addition to painting a variety of floral patterns and color variations, I put in buds and seed pods and wilted blooms along with a bee in each one.
