This small footstool is painted with a profusion of sunflowers! Of course there is a bee visiting the flowers. A few fallen petals are painted on the two longer side panels. The top of the stool is only about 12″ X 8″. I have included a ‘before’ picture to help you understand the transformation better.
This rose is painted on a wooden plaque that is 6″X4″. It is based on photo I took in Elizabeth Park, Hartford one summer. The sun was just streaming through the pale petals and I just had to capture it! I think this underside view is so much more interesting than a traditional view! There is also a honey bee who has come to visit. |
Old fashioned Hollyhocks are one of my favorite flowers but I can never seem to get them to establish themselves in my garden, so instead I painted one!! Painted in a hyper-realistic style, with sharp shadows, this flower seems to jump off the background. A bee hovers near by. This Hollyhock is painted on a slice of wood about eight inches tall.
This single peach colored rose is quite dramatic on its nearly black background. It is painted on an oval wooden plaque which is six inches tall. Look closely and you will see a honeybee hovering just below the flower.
