Dog Portraits on Stone

I enjoy painting animal portraits from photos of real dogs. I capture their personal markings, features and especially their eyes. I choose beach stones with relatively smooth surfaces which are about the size of large potatoes! Do you have a favorite dog that you would like me to paint for you? I need nice clear photos of your animal’s face plus additional photos showing their body, paws and tails. Either prints or electronic PDF files are fine. I try to include as many details as I can. These stones are $50 each plus shipping. Larger stones are available at varying prices. Contact me through this site if you are interested in having a unique stone painted.

Frogs and Crabs and Fish on Stones

These little rocks were painted just for fun, although some were commissions. The crab and the fish are painted on smooth flat stones and are only a couple inches long. The Frogs are pretty much life size. And one is actually painted on a piece of lumpy concrete! Can you tell?

Pansies on a Wooden Bucket

This hand painted wooden pot is 5″ tall and can hold anything you want like a 5″ plant, or your colored pencils (not included), or pretty hand towels in the guest bathroom, or utensils and napkins on the dinner table. I had such fun painting a wide range of flowers on it. There are a dozen varieties of Pansies among the 16 hand painted blossoms, plus several buds, fading flowers, leaves, seed pods and one burst open seed pod. I painted a lovely fat honey bee and a lady bug. Pansies are very special flowers! Not only do they have a multitude of faces and colors but they are very happy in the cold! I set them on the front stoop while snow is still melting! Yay Spring!!
