Sometimes commissions come in clusters requesting the same subject matter; this winter it was plaques with Hydrangeas. With the first one I was inspired by the colors Hydrangeas morph into come the autumn. There is a Honey bee coming by to visit. This piece is about 6″ across.

Hydrangea Plaque Series – Summer
This second plaque in the series has a bright sunny background and is a little larger than the first one, at about 9″ across. I chose to put a little Hummingbird off to the left and a Lady bug on a leaf. This design is joyous with the abundance of blooms on the bush in many stages of color morphing.
Blue Colonial House Portrait
The owners of this lovely blue Colonial home commissioned this portrait of their home when they knew they would be moving. I photographed it a few times last summer to catch all the beautiful flowers and then used my artistic license to put them all in bloom together. The piece is painted on a wooden plaque 14″X10″ and is only a little larger in scale than the miniature three dimensional houses I painted exclusively for many years. This was like old times for me and I loved doing it. If you are interested in having a portrait done of your home please contact me.
