Violets Upon Reflection

In early spring I gathered Violets, Grape Hyacinth and a few Vinca blossoms and placed them in a little blue glass creamer on a glassy surface.  I painted them on an 8″ wooden plate, slightly larger than life, with their reflection.  My signature bug is painted on the back of the plate with an additional flower.  This piece is currently for sale for $85 plus shipping.  Please contact me thru this site if you are interested in purchasing it.

Hydrangea Inspiration

In the midst of the Corvid-10 social distancing I had trouble getting my ‘engines’ started on a new painting. Then I came across a photo I had taken last summer and my inspiration came roaring back. I painted this pale blue Hydrangea  just as it was about to burst open to full bloom. I love the delicateness  I was able to achieve with the life size petals.   I painted the visiting bee with a softer focus to capture his motion in flight.  The small plaque is only 9″ X 7″  and is edged in shades of antique gold. Although this one has sold, I can paint something similar for $95 if you desire .   Please contact me through this site if you are interested in commissioning anything.
