Yes the playing cards are all paint! This was the perfect motif for my Trompe l’oiel skills. I had a grand old time painting them on the top of this small box which was commissioned as a gift for a lover of games and wine. I put Lady bugs on the back for luck!

Rocks and Stones Box
I just love painting rocks! This 12″ X 8″ X 3″ box has faux painted marble sides and bottom. Sorry but this gem was sold as soon as I put it in a show. I’d love to paint another if you want one!
Crab Apple Blossoms Box
A branch of deep pink Crab Apple blossoms adorn this 11″ X 8″ X 3″ wooden box. I began by painting the entire exterior as a pale green and yellow marble with a candy pink interior. The abundantly lush flowers are painted from photos of a tree in my own yard. A bee is on the top and a Lunar moth is inside the cover.
Box of Lemons
This was a fun commission! I was given the assignment of “lemons on a box” and I loved doing it! I painted the exterior of a new, unfinished, file box in a deep forest green which makes the lemons pop! I painted whole and cut lemons, slices and wedges, curls of rind, seeds and lemon tree blossoms. And of course a yellow bee for my signature bug!
