I sometimes pass this spot on the Farmington River on my daily morning walk. I love living so close to this undisturbed area. I painted my view from the shore on this small wooden tray which is 20″ X 8″, handle to handle, and 15″ X 7″ on the interior. I transformed this vintage tilt top table with an Autumn scene painted in fluid acrylics. Some leaves are painted right up close and well detailed. One large tree and lots of slender ones line the stream in the background. A yellow swallowtail butterfly glides right by! Sunlight on snow is so striking I could not resist painting it on the 18″ X 12″ center of this wooden tray. Yet I am told by some that it looks like light from a full moon. What do you see? I based this painting on a photo I took of my own backyard in the winter of 2015 when snow piled up on logs from trees that had fallen in the previous year’s storm.
