Rocks and more rocks, painted hyper realistically in liquid acrylics!!! I returned to one of my favorite subjects in the summer of 2017 to paint this charming vintage table. There are at least a dozen heart shaped stones in the oval table top (30″ X 19 “). How many can you find? I’ll let you decide the total number as some are only hinted at! Of course there is a bug on one of the stones. The lower shelf is painted as a single slab of grey marble. The shelf is also painted on the underside so as to continue the Trompe L’oeil illusion. The legs remain their original dark brown stain but I added small grey diamonds to the graceful curves to visually connect the two painted surfaces. The table stands 29” tall and has a drawer tucked under the top tier. This piece is similar to a previously commissioned table named River Stones, and has recently been sold. If you are interested in commissioning a similar piece please feel free to contact me through this site.

Photo Spread in Rocks and Minerals Magazine
I am so proud to announce a three page spread of my artwork in a national publication: the September/October 2016 issue of Rocks and Minerals Magazine. More than a year ago I was contacted by the editors of this gorgeous magazine asking if they could showcase my work in their regular feature of artists whose art focuses on rocks and minerals. I was over the moon at the idea and am blown away with the results! Thank you to this wonderful publication and a special thanks to Susan Robinson for all her help in facilitating the process.

Stone ‘Crazy Quilt’ Table
This table is painted to appear as if the top is inlaid with a variety of stone tiles fitted together like an old crazy quilt. The lower shelf is painted as a single slab of Marble. All of the faux “stones” are based on actual stone found in nature. Subtle colors of grey, camel and gold were chosen for the legs from frequently used colors in the stones. The table top is 16″ square, the lower shelf is 12″ square. The table stands 27.5″ tall. It is available for sale at $180 plus shipping.
